Mental Health First Aid Certification Course Schedule for 2025

Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. The Certification course focuses on recognizing the patterns of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and appearances that show there might be a challenge rather than on a specific disorder. Participants learn the MHFA Action Plan and how to apply it to non-crisis and crisis situations. By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Describe the purpose and role of Mental Health First Aid.
• Identify the impact of mental health challenges and recovery on the well-being of adults in the workplace.
• Describe the principles of workplace safety and privacy.
• Recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges and how they impact the workplace.
• Explain and practice the five steps of the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan.
• Evaluate the impact of early intervention on mental health challenges.
• Choose appropriate methods of self-care following the application of Mental Health First Aid in a crisis or non-crisis situation.

This certification training is suggested for leaders of all types, managers, supervisors, etc. and includes two hours of self-paced pre-course learning, four hours of live class instruction, and a knowledge test. Participants will receive a certificate upon successful completion.
