Most employees who get their dental coverage through King County can get preventive services, such as teeth cleaning and X-rays, at no cost. That’s a great way to keep your smile in good health.
But did you know that if you’re in the Delta Dental PPO Plan, your out-of-pocket costs for class II restorative services, such as fillings, go down if you see your dentist at least once during the previous year?
If you see your dentist annually, your costs for most services decrease by 10% each year, to as low as zero. For crowns and other class III services, your costs decrease by 5% each year, to as low as 15%.
The downside is if you didn’t see your dentist at least once in the previous year, the amount you pay out-of-pocket increases each year by 10% for restorative and 5% for crowns, to a maximum of 30%.
It pays to see your dentist regularly, so start the year out right by calling your dentist today to schedule an appointment.
If you’re in the Cigna Dental HMO plan, preventive care is always free, and you pay low copays—not a percentage—for all other services. With Cigna, there’s never a deductible or annual dollar limit to what the plan covers.
