Getting a flu shot is an important part of protecting your health, your family’s health, and your community’s health. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone six months and older get a flu shot every year.
Flu shots have many important benefits; getting a flu shot can reduce your risk of getting the flu, help protect vulnerable populations, and conserve health care resources as we continue to navigate these uncertain times.
Each year, King County’s Balanced You arranges onsite flu shot clinics for employees. This year, Balanced You is partnering with a new onsite vaccination provider: Seattle Visiting Nurse Association (SVNA). Providing programs to support your health and well-being is one way we’re Investing in YOU.
IMPORTANT: When registering for a flu shot appointment, enter your name as it appears on your insurance card. Regence members should be sure to include the KIN prefix (uppercase k, uppercase i, uppercase n) when entering their member ID number in the insurance section.
Where to get your flu shot
We encourage employees to get their flu shot wherever is most convenient for them.
The onsite flu clinics may be helpful for those reporting to County worksites in person. Flu shots provided at the worksite clinics are free for all employees and appointments are highly encouraged. Make an appointment here. King County’s onsite flu shot schedule and information on how to schedule an appointment can be found below.
Employees who are telecommuting and employees’ family members may find it more convenient to go to their healthcare provider’s office or a local pharmacy. Learn more about how to get a flu shot through your provider or local pharmacy.
Schedule your appointment
Because Balanced You is working with a new partner, there is a new appointment system, and employees are encouraged to schedule an appointment at a convenient location. To make an appointment, visit King County’s scheduling site. Follow the prompts and choose the clinic most convenient for you.
If you have medical insurance, you’ll enter your insurance information into the scheduling site. If you are currently uninsured, you will choose ‘out of pocket’ on the scheduling site and King County will cover the cost. Note: SVNA does not accept Tricare and Cigna insurance.
IMPORTANT: When registering for a flu shot appointment, enter your name as it appears on your insurance card. Regence members should be sure to include the KIN prefix (uppercase k, uppercase i, uppercase n) when entering their member ID number in the insurance section.
If you need help with the scheduling system, please contact the flu shot vendor at info@seattlevna.com or 425-967-3080.
