Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) at Work Certification training helps employees notice when a coworker may be experiencing a mental health or substance‑use challenge and respond with confidence, care, and appropriate support. The course focuses on recognizing changes in behavior, mood, or appearance, understanding how these challenges can affect people at work, and knowing how to connect someone with helpful resources.
Participants learn how to offer support in both crisis and non‑crisis situations, while respecting privacy and maintaining a safe, supportive workplace environment.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
– Understand the purpose and role of Mental Health First Aid
– Recognize signs that someone may be experiencing a mental health challenge
– Understand how mental health concerns can affect people at work
– Respond with supportive, practical steps
– Encourage early help‑seeking and connect coworkers to resources
– Practice self‑care after offering support
Employees who complete all components will be certified as Mental Health First Aiders.
