Making Life Easier Overview

Balancing work and home can be a challenge. Making Life Easier (MLE) helps you get assistance whenever it’s needed, wherever it’s most convenient.  

MLE offers a wide variety of resources to support emotional and overall well-being. MLE’s resources are confidential, free, and available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to all King County employees and anyone living at the employee’s home. 

What kind of resources does Making Life Easier offer? 

MLE provides the following resources to support you whether you’re navigating depression, stress, anxiety, grief, substance use, relationship problems, or more.  

  • In-the-moment support from a licensed clinician 24/7/365  
  • In-person or virtual (video) counseling sessions with mental health counselors or coaches 
  • Text therapy 
  • Self-guided digital therapy 
  • Online support groups 
  • Personalized coaching 
  • Referrals for everyday needs, such as child or elder care, home improvement, auto repair, pet care, and more 
  • Expert consultation for financial, legal, and identity theft issues. 
  • Support navigating substance use disorders 
  • Mindstream, an emotional fitness studio with over 500 on-demand learning sessions on mental health topics such as financial wellness, caregiving, personal growth, and more 

If you don’t know where to start, the Mental Health Navigator, available on the MLE website or mobile app, can help you choose which programs are right for you. Just visit the MLE website or app, click on the Mental Health Navigator icon, and answer a short survey to receive guidance and support.  

How do I access Making Life Easier? 

In-the-moment support along with appointments for in-person or virtual counseling, work-life consultations, or money coaching can be made by calling MLE at 888-874-7290.  Phones are answered 24/7/365 by licensed counselors.

To enter the MLE website or app, you will need to create an account with a unique user ID. When you first set up the account, you will need to enter your group code. The group code (kingcounty) will auto-populate into the User ID and then you will be prompted on how to create your own unique account. You only need a unique account to log onto the website. If you don’t want to create a unique account, you can still access many Making Life Easier resources by calling Making Life Easier at 1-888-874-7290.
