Where to find vaccine recommendations

Many employees may be confused about where to find information on what vaccines they and their family need to stay safe. Read below for guidance from Balanced You, in partnership with Public Health – Seattle & King County.

Washington State Department of Health

Washington State Department of Health (DOH) reviews evidence-based recommendations, clinical data, and other relevant information from trusted medical and public health organizations to draft vaccine recommendations for Washingtonians. Recommendations are reviewed by the State Medical Epidemiologist, State Health Officer, and State Secretary of Health before being finalized, published and distributed.

These recommendations guide best practices that help families make the best choices for their health, help to maintain access and insurance coverage for vaccines, provide consistent clinical guidance for healthcare providers, and ensure communities across Washington remain protected from serious vaccine preventable diseases.

You can find details on DOH’s vaccine review and recommendation process here: Vaccine Recommendations | Washington State Department of Health

You can view DOH’s current vaccine recommendations (also known as immunization schedule) here:

Public Health – Seattle & King County

Public Health – Seattle & King County (Public Health) aligns King County’s local recommendations with DOH’s recommendations.

Visit Public Health’s website Immunizations – King County, Washington to learn more about where to get vaccinated, see resources to learn more about vaccines, and find information on what vaccines are recommended for babies, children, and adults.
